According to the Palestinian Prisoners Club, this fourth batch of released detainees includes 18 prisoners serving life sentences, 54 with long-term sentences, and 111 detainees from Gaza who were arrested following the October 7 attacks.
Earlier in the day, Hamas released three Israeli hostages as part of the prisoner exchange. Since the ceasefire agreement began on January 19, Hamas has released 18 hostages to the International Committee of the Red Cross in return for hundreds of Palestinian detainees, many of whom are women and minors.
Hamas originally took 251 hostages during the October 7 attack on Israel, which triggered the war in Gaza. Of those, 76 remain in Gaza, with the Israeli military confirming that at least 34 of them are deceased.
Patients Evacuated Through Rafah Crossing
In a parallel development, 50 Palestinian patients crossed into Egypt via the Rafah border for medical treatment, as the crossing reopened under the ceasefire deal.
Egyptian state-affiliated media, Al-Qahera News, broadcast footage of the evacuees, including a child with an autoimmune disease, accompanied by 53 family members.
