According to the circular, Bahrain ministries and public institutions will be off on Friday, July 28th, and Saturday, July 29th.

However, since the dates coincide with the weekend, Sunday, July 30th, and Monday, July 31st, will be given as a replacement.

Bahrain is the only one of the Gulf countries that marks Ashura as a public holiday.

The Day of Ashura is the 10th day of Muharram in the Islamic calendar.
