Bahrain Grants 10,000 Golden Residencies to Boost Investment
The Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs (NPRA) in Bahrain has issued over 10,000 Golden Residency permits to recipients from 99 countries. This exciting initiative is part of Bahrain’s efforts to enhance its residency system, drive economic growth, and attract skilled talent. Led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and supported by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior, this program is a significant step towards bolstering Bahrain’s position as an investment hub.

Who’s Eligible for Golden Residency?
The Golden Residency permits have been awarded to a select group of individuals, including:
- Property Owners: Those who own property valued at a minimum of BHD 200,000.
- Skilled Professionals: This includes artists, athletes, and other talented individuals who meet specific criteria in their fields.
- Long-Serving Employees and Their Families: Eligible individuals must have lived in Bahrain for over five consecutive years with a minimum monthly salary of 2,000 Bahraini Dinars.
Announcement at Gateway Gulf 2024
This announcement was made during the Gateway Gulf 2024 event, which is currently hosted in Bahrain. The forum gathered international government officials, business leaders, and executives under the theme “Investing in a Rapidly Transforming Region.” Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of NPRA, highlighted how the Minister of Interior’s directives have strengthened Bahrain’s investment climate across various sectors, supporting the economy in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
