According to Bahrain's Ministry of Health, there have been ongoing & suspicious WhatsApp calls and messages using its logo to steal sensitive information.

These calls, which act on behalf of the Ministry of Health, collect personal information about COVID-19 vaccination doses.

The Ministry's official Instagram page stated that suspicious communications are asking people to install a fake app that gathers all information related to the COVID-19 vaccination doses, allowing the application to access mobile, bank account, and device-linked accounts.
The Ministry denied initiating these communications and confirmed that they are fraudulent and is working with the Anti-Cybercrime Department to solve the matter.
The only approved app for Coronavirus vaccination doses in Bahrain is the Beware App, which is designed to automatically update and maintain the highest levels of security and privacy.
