According to Bahrain News Agency, the revised regulations are designed to increase the available building spaces for residential units and plots. This change aims to offer citizens more opportunities for expansion within their homes while ensuring that these developments meet the Ministry of Housing’s standards.
Addressing Building Violations
Amna Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, highlighted that the new rules also address common building violations. These violations will be converted into legal amendments, aligning them with the ministry's standards, ensuring that all residential units, plots, and buildings under the ministry's oversight comply with the latest regulations.
Applicability and Broader Legal Framework
The new regulations will apply to both established and yet-to-be-delineated residential areas, forming part of a comprehensive legal framework for housing development in Bahrain. This initiative results from a collaborative effort between legislative and executive authorities, following a detailed review of cases submitted to the ministry.
