Bahrain has announced the registration opening for Saudi companies in its Local Value-Added Program, Takamul, a strategic move under the Kingdom’s Industry Sector Strategic Initiatives 2022-2026 aimed at enhancing local value addition and supply chain efficiency.
Bahrain’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, emphasized the significance of this program in reinforcing the strategic partnership between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
This development follows the third meeting of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, chaired by Bahrain’s Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
“The Takamul program embodies mutual benefits, recognizing Bahraini products as Saudi products in local government procurement within Saudi Arabia. Participating Saudi companies can achieve a 75 percent In-Country Value, earning a certificate for a 10 percent preference in Bahrain’s future government tenders,” stated Fakhro.
Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, highlighted that the program aims to enhance local value addition and procurement preferences, thereby stimulating Saudi industries and fostering economic integration between the two nations.
Alkhorayef also noted that goods manufactured in Bahrain meeting national origin rules will be considered Saudi products, benefiting from local content preference mechanisms in Saudi Arabia. He stated that this collaboration will boost trade, stimulate national industries, attract foreign investments, and increase the added value of products from both countries.
This initiative underscores the robust and enduring ties between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, reflecting a shared commitment to deepening bilateral relations for mutual development and prosperity.
Saudi enterprises interested in the Takamul program can register through Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce website: service.moic.gov.bh/takamul.
