The sixth edition of the Space Applications Hackathon Challenge is now accepting applications from all programmers, scientists, designers, storytellers, technicians, and space science enthusiasts, according to a release from the National Space Science Authority (NSSA).

The hackathon is organized by the NSSA and NASA and will be held in Bahrain, for the first time.

The NSSA announced that the Hackathon will take place on October 7th and 8th at two different venues, the first being Bahrain Polytechnic in Isa Town and the second being the University of Bahrain (UOB) in Sakhir.

The NSSA invited those interested in the hackathon to register through the authority’s website.

The participants will be divided into teams of creative thinkers who will compete to develop solutions to problems affecting the space industry, as decided by NASA, using space data made available by NASA.

The NSSA also stressed that the hackathon's goal of inspiring participants to come up with fresh approaches and concepts depended on the competing teams finishing their work in within 48 hours.
