Bahrain ranked 68th globally on the index with an economic freedom score of 62.5 because the country is a financial hub for dynamic economic activity. Bahrain's score in 2023 is 0.5 points higher than its score in 2022.
The overall index rating is based on three broad areas, which include government size, legal structure, and security of property rights; access to sound money and freedom to trade internationally; and regulation of credit, labour, and business.
