Engineering Certification and Insurance Now Required
Under the new decree, any street advertisement structure must include an engineering certification confirming its stability against wind forces. Advertisers must also hold liability insurance to cover any potential damage the ad might cause during its display.
Setback and Clearance Rules for Ads
Ads now need a minimum 10-meter setback from the road edge. This distance may be adjusted based on the type, size, and location of the advertisement, subject to municipal approval. Ads must also avoid obstructing any utilities or emergency equipment.
Removal of Non-Compliant Ads
Municipalities have the authority to remove any ads that pose a risk to public safety, with removal costs billed to the violator. Ads left empty or unlicensed also face removal at the advertiser’s expense. Support structures must use non-flammable materials, while height limits are determined based on location and ad type.
License Terms and Renewals
Ad licenses are issued for a one-year period and can be renewed 15 days before expiry. Ads must be removed within a month after license expiration, or the municipality will take down the ad, charging any costs to the advertiser.
