Renowned Bahraini businessman Farouk Yousuf Almoayyed passed away at the age of 80 because of complications after his surgery abroad.

Almoayyed was a key figure in the progression of Bahrain's economic sector. After completing his studies, he joined his family's business, which focused on electrical products. Almoayyed worked towards expanding the company's presence in regional and international markets.
The businessman served as a chairman of the Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons, Y.K. Almoayyed Properties, National Bank of Bahrain, Bahrain Duty-Free, Gulf Hotel Groups, Bahrain National Duty, National Finance House, Ahlia University, and Al Wasat Publishing and Distribution.
The funeral took place on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at the Manama Cemetery where hundreds of people gathered to pay their final respects.
