Living abroad just got a whole lot easier for Bahrainis. The Kingdom’s Information & eGovernment Authority (IGA) has rolled out a game-changing digital service that lets citizens renew, replace, or issue their national ID cards online—from literally anywhere on the planet.

The service is now live on bahrain.bh, and it’s designed to spare Bahrainis living overseas from the hassle of flying back home for basic ID procedures. Whether you're in London, Sydney, or sipping qahwa in Istanbul, you can apply for your card from wherever you are.
According to IGA, applications can be submitted directly by the citizen or by a first-degree relative if needed. Once processed, the ID card can either be picked up from the Isa Town ID Centre back in Bahrain or—here’s the cool part—delivered straight to your door anywhere in the world via Aramex.
This move is part of Bahrain’s broader push to digitize government services and make life simpler for citizens both at home and abroad. And let’s be honest, skipping bureaucratic queues and expensive plane tickets? Total win.
If you’re a Bahraini expat or just traveling long-term, this new feature means you’ll never have to worry about your ID expiring again. Just a few clicks, and you’re sorted.
