A new study by Our World in Data has revealed the top five Arab countries with the highest daily average calorie count per person, and Bahrain is at the top of the list.

The numbers showed that on average, Bahraini citizens consume around 4012 calories per day!
For reference, the standard recommended caloric intake for an adult male is 2,500 and for adult females is 2,000.
Qatar came in at second place, where the average intake is 3609, followed by Algeria (3519), Tunisia (3449), and Lebanon (3444).

Now, Bahrain does have a thriving food scene, so we can't be too surprised! But with that said, it's imperative to remember the importance of maintaining a healthy diet and staying active.
