Bahrain's Central Bank Might Launch a Bahraini Digital Dinar Soon

The Central Bank of Bahrain is planning to launch a trial of a Bahraini Digital Dinar soon, which is part of the bank's recovery plan that has made the digital dinar a top priority.

According to The Executive Director of Banking Operations at the Bank Hessa Alsada, the bank has been working on the development of this digital currency since 2018.
The digital dinar will be available to use for various everyday transactions such as shopping but unlike cryptocurrencies, the digital dinar will be backed by a central authority, which is the Central Bank of Bahrain.
The Central Bank will issue the digital dinar and the bank will also manage it.
