Bahrain's Eunice Chumba Wins the Women's Marathon at the Asian Games

The people of Bahrain will be happy to know that the Kingdom's athlete Eunice Chebichii Paul Chumba has won a gold medal in the women's marathon at the 19th Asian Games in China.

Chumba's gold medal is the 10th gold medal won by Bahrain at the Asian Games, so it has secured the 8th position on the medal table.
Eunice Chumba finished the marathon in 2:26:14.
The silver medal was secured by China's Zhang Deshun, while the bronze medal was secured by Kazakhstan's Sardana Trofimova.
Bahrain even managed to break a record at the Asian Games because the team's distance runner Birhanu Yemataw Balew won the gold medal in the men's 5000m race on Oct. 4.
Balew set a new Asian Games record by finishing the race in 13 minutes and 17.40 seconds.
Bahrain also set a new Asian Games mark in the Women's 400mx4 Relay, with a record time of 3 minutes and 27.65 seconds.
These athletes have made their country proud with their excellent performance at the Asian Games!
