Bahrain continues to shine on the Olympic stage as Gor Minasyan clinches a bronze medal in weightlifting at the Paris 2024 Olympics. This achievement marks Bahrain's third medal in the current Games and the seventh in its Olympic history, dating back to 1984.

Minasyan's impressive total lift of 461 kg across the snatch and clean and jerk categories not only secured his place on the podium but also highlighted weightlifting as the second sport, after athletics, to contribute to Bahrain's Olympic success.
This victory was celebrated by His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, along with key figures such as His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, who were present to support Minasyan during his performance.
Sheikh Nasser expressed his delight at the win, extending congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He also praised Minasyan's dedication, attributing this success to the athlete's hard work, the guidance of his coaching team, and the support from the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation.
Minasyan's bronze medal adds to Bahrain's growing legacy in international sports, reinforcing the Kingdom's presence on the global stage.
