Bahrain's Ministry of Health is urging citizens and residents to receive the booster doses for the Pfizer (XBB 1.5) vaccine against the new COVID-19 variant.

The Head of the Disease Control Department Dr. Basma Al-Saffar has clarified that the initial dose for the Pfizer vaccine is recommended for those individuals who have not received any COVID-19 vaccine previously.

Who Are Advised to Get the Pfizer Booster Doses?
Here is the list of individuals who are advised to get the booster doses:
- Individuals who are 50 years old or older and suffer from chronic diseases.
- Individuals who are 12 years old and above.
- Individuals with obesity issues.
- Individuals with immune deficiencies
- Pregnant women
- Medical professionals
The booster dose is recommended for the safety of the people in Bahrain, so the individuals who are more susceptible to COVID-19 should get the booster dose as soon as possible.
