The Mumbai Police revealed that an extortion case has been registered against an unidentified person at the Bandra Police Station in Mumbai under sections 308 (4) and 351 (3) (4) of BNS.
The police have reportedly traced the call to Chattisgarh's Raipur and sent teams to investigate further.
Although Mumbai Police have not confirmed this move, a Raipur police official said that Mumbai Police have given them notice of Faiyaz Khan for threatening the Bollywood actor.
CSP Civil Lines Ajay Kumar said, "Today Mumbai Police came to Pandri Police Station where they informed that a crime has been registered in Bandra Police Station where Shah Rukh Khan was threatened and money was demanded. Mumbai Police gave notice to the accused. No information has been received about his arrest yet."
CSP Kumar also said, "The person's name has been identified as Mohammad Faizan Khan, he is an advocate. The call was made to Bandra Police Station on Nov. 5. He (Faizan Khan) had complained that his phone was lost on Nov. 2. We will investigate and Mumbai Police is investigating too."
