Certain Passengers Now Receive A COVID-19 Cover From Air Arabia

This low cost passenger airline has launched a COVID-19 cover for those flying from Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, with information on how you can claim it.

Once tickets are booked, the cover is automatically included and will be valid for 31 days from departure, with medical expenses and quarantine costs included.

Under the airline's cover, passengers who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 can claim $50 (Dhs184) per day that they have to spend in quarantine, up to a maximum of 14 days. Medical treatment related to the coronavirus will be covered up to the amount of $20,000(Dhs73,459). It does not cover the cost of mandatory quarantine imposed by countries for people who do not have Covid-19.

Adel Al Ali, the Group Chief Executive Officer, said “The new COVID-19 global assistance cover underlines our commitment to customers in helping them travel with confidence and additional ease of mind”.

Enhanced safety measures for a safe travel are also included deep cabin cleaning and disinfection that is done before every flight, high-protection HEPA filters have been installed to ensure no airborne contaminants exist during flying, all cabin crew members are equipped with PPE suits along with all food and drinks on board served in a hygienic manner. 

If any passenger is diagnosed with COVID-19 during their travel, they must contact Air Arabia’s COVID-19 global assistance cover team on +971 4 564 6990, WhatsApp them on +66 65 121 2025 or reach out on e-mail via covid19assistance@tuneprotect.com.

The medical cover does not include the cost of PCR tests, and does not apply to customers who have travelled to their country of residence.

Etihad Airways is also covering any medical costs if the passenger is diagnosed with COVID-19, along with Emirates, flydubai and Virgin Atlantic who will be offering free coronavirus insurance.
