Donald Trump was sworn in as US President for his second term on Monday, Jan. 20. The new President took his oath at a solemn ceremony under the Rotunda of the US Capitol.

In his inaugural address, President Trump said, "The golden age of America begins right now...From this day forward, our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world. We will be the envy of every nation, and we will not allow ourselves to be taken advantage of any longer. During every single day of the Trump administration, I will very simply put America first."
President Trump was sworn in after his Vice President, former senator JD Vance, took the oath of office.
President Trump revealed how he will begin his term by signing some executive orders on immigration and the environment.
He also said that he would declare a national emergency at the US-Mexico border and "begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came".
The President will sign executive orders to clamp down on border crossings, increase fossil fuel developments, and end diversity and inclusion programs across the federal government.
President Trump said that his "proudest legacy" will be of a "peacemaker and unifier", referring to the ceasefire in Gaza and the release of the Israeli hostages.
The inauguration was attended by the CEO of Tesla Motors Elon Musk, the Executive Chairman of Amazon Jeff Bezos, CEO of Meta Mark Zuckerberg, and the CEO of Google Sundar Pichai.
