New COVID-19 rules were announced over the weekend in Dubai due to the rise in COVID-19 cases. Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management listed a set of new rules regarding restaurants, weddings, social events, and entertainment. Here is everything you should know.
Live entertainment
On Thursday, January 21, 2021, a ban on live entertainment, including bands, DJs, singers and more, was announced by Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing via the Dubai Media Office and was immediately effective.
The media office stated that more than 200 violations were found in establishments and 20 venues were closed.
Restaurants
On Friday, January 22, the by Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing announced that restaurants and cafes should increase the social distance between tables to three metres.
It also stated that the maximum amount of people allowed to sit at one table is now seven people. Whereas, in cafes, a maximum of four people can sit on a table.
Weddings, Private Parties and Social Events
Starting from January 27, a maximum of 10 people only and only first-degree relatives can attend. These changes come into effect on January 27.
Gyms
The Dubai Economy and Dubai Sports Council has announced that distance between sports equipment and trainees must be increased to three metres.
