Stricter Requirements for Expats
Under the new guidelines, expatriates applying for public sector jobs must possess a master’s degree and have at least ten years of relevant experience. This shift is aimed at attracting highly qualified candidates who can contribute significantly to the government sector.
Limited Contract Duration
Expats will have their contracts capped at two years, with the possibility of a one-time renewal. However, any renewal must receive approval from the Civil Service Bureau, ensuring that the process remains selective and maintains high standards.
Focus on Training Bahraini Nationals
One of the key aspects of this initiative is the requirement for expats to train Bahraini employees. The goal is to facilitate knowledge transfer and skill development, ultimately preparing local staff to step into these roles in the future. This approach not only helps build a more skilled workforce but also aligns with Bahrain’s commitment to increasing employment opportunities for its citizens.
