After Bahrain's Winfred Yavi secured the World Title at the World Athletics Championship, Bahraini weightlifter Sherine Hussain broke the World Sub-Junior Record with a 156.5 kg deadlift in the 52kg weight class at the World Powerlifting Championship Juniors & Sub-Juniors.

After doing this impressive deadlift, Hussain also secured a gold medal at the championship, which was held in Romania.
At just eighteen, Hussain has inspired many young female weightlifters in Bahrain and around the world by smashing the World Sub-Junior Record.
The Bahrain Powerlifting Committee shared the news on their Instagram page, where the Bahraini weightlifter received many congratulations.
Other than Hussain, the Bahraini team at the championship also included male weightlifter Fahad Al Ghenaim who won a bronze medal for deadlifts.
With her record-breaking achievement, Sherine Hussain has made Bahrain proud!
