HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Brother of Dubai's Ruler Passes Away

Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, brother of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, died on Wednesday.
The late Sheikh Hamdan was UAE’s Deputy Ruler of Dubai and the Minister of Finance and Industry and was the second son of the late ruler Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed paid a tribute to his brother through a post on his twitter account.

Sheikh Hamdan was born on December 25, 1945, and his formal schooling began at Al-Ahlia school in Dubai and completed his further studies at the Bell School of Languages in Cambridge.
The late Sheikh also supported UNESCO with the "Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Prize for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers"
Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Hamdan, controled the state-owned Dubai Ports World along with the Dubai Holding Co. and its many subsidiary companies which have wide-ranging investments in hotels, apartment buildings, banking and finance, and healthcare facilities.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum has also been the head of the UAE's delegation at the International Monetary Fund and the OPEC Fund.
