Miss Universe Bahrain Lujaine Yacoub and Miss Universe Pakistan Erica Robin have joined a campaign to promote halal tourism in the Philippines.

The two Miss Universes will help boost tourism in the country because Manila has been working to attract more visitors from Middle Eastern and Muslim-majority countries.
The Philippines' economy is dependent on tourism and it took a hit because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In order to revive the tourism sector, Manila wants to position itself as a Muslim-friendly destination.
The Department of Tourism has sought the two Miss Universes to promote Muslim-friendly and halal tourism in the country.
The Miss Universes trip to the Philippines is expected to be a big boost for the country as it is expected to enhance the image of the country for the global Muslim community.
Earlier in 2023, the Philippines won the 'Emerging Muslim-friendly Destination of the Year' Award during the Halal in Travel Global Summit.
Both Miss Universes will remain in the country for their training for the Miss Universe 2023 pageant in El Salvador.
During their stay, Yacoub and Robin will show the global Muslim community the scenic and cultural beauty of the Philippines.
