The Mohammed bin Rashid Library hosted a poetry evening on the anniversary of the death of the Prince of Poets Ahmed Shawqi, with the participation of a group of writers, academics, and poets, to shed light on his distinguished poetic experience, which was characterized by the abundance of production and intellectual creativity, especially in poetic theater and children's poems.

The event was moderated by the poet and novelist Sameh Kawash, the journalist Jamal Matar, the journalist writer Nasser Iraq, the academic critic Dr. Rashid Bousheer, and the qanun player Muhammad Halloum.

The poetry evening witnessed wide participation and great interaction from members and visitors of all nationalities and ages, praising its great role in stimulating the passion for knowledge, encouraging reading, research, and creativity among all segments of society, and introducing Arab talents, creators and talents in all fields and sectors.

The events and workshops come as part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Library program, which continues throughout the year, to encourage reading, and to attract segments of society who constitute an important part of the cultural and artistic movement.
