New Zealand has made it to the finals of the women's T20 World Cup 2024, after defeating West Indies on Friday, Oct. 18 in the semi-final match by eight runs.

New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first. Georgia Plimmer scored 33 runs, Suzie Bates secured 26 runs, and Izzy Gaze secured 20 runs, which contributed to the team's total score of 128 runs in 20 overs.
West Indies tried outdoing their opponents, but they were limited to 120 runs by New Zealand. The team's Eden Carson took three wickets for which she was named 'Player of the Match'. Amelia Kerr took two wickets and Bates took one wicket.
New Zealand will play against South Africa in the tournament's final on Sunday, Oct. 20.
