According to remarks made at a press conference held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, Azzan bin Qasim al-Busaidi, the undersecretary of the Omani Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, highlighted the neighboring nation's interest in helping Qatar host a successful event in many areas of collaboration.

The Gulf country hopes to promote Muscat as a tourist destination for World Cup fans in addition to commemorating the region's historic hosting of the event.

Fans considering Oman as a potential stop during the mega-event would benefit from this relaxation of admission requirements.

Additionally, the country is offering accommodations, shuttle flights, hotels, vacation packages, a variety of activities, and visa incentives to World Cup supporters.

Part of the incentives includes a free multi-trip visa to and from Doha and a visa upon arrival with a duration of 60 days. Depending on the circumstances, those with visas may also bring first-degree relatives to Oman or switch their visa category.

Travel, events, and lodging

Oman Air will operate multiple flights between the two cities throughout the World Cup season from November 20 to December 3, 2022, according to Dr. Khalid bin Abdulwahab al-Balushi, senior manager of government relations at Oman Air. This will guarantee consistent transportation for all tourists.

Citizens are offered preferential rates starting at OMR49 for economy class and OMR155 for business class in order to encourage them. Fans can directly reserve one-day flights on the Oman Air website for fares starting at OMR 99 for economy class and OMR 305 for business class.

The Sultanate now has more than 20,000 hotel rooms and more than 200 tourist items available through more than 35 local businesses and 10 land carriers, as well as partnerships with 52 international airlines.

A large World Cup celebration will be held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, which spans over 9,000 square meters, to keep the spectators entertained.

More details will be revealed in the coming days, but for now, we do know that the festival will work with specialized international organizations to offer a variety of event packages throughout the World Cup.
