Pakistani runners Faisal Shafi and Danish Elahi received a Guinness World Record for completing the 42.2 km annual marathon under four hours while wearing the Pakistani national attire, which is the traditional shalwar kameez.
The duo completed the marathon in three hours and twenty-six minutes, marking the fastest finish by runners in Pakistani national attire, for which they secured a Guinness World Record.
The runners completed the marathon in shalwar kameez to honor their Pakistani cultural heritage and promote a positive image of their country and culture.
Other Pakistani runners, Amin Mukaty and Sara Lodhi, emerged as the fastest Pakistani male and female finishers.
The Boston Marathon took place on Monday, April 21, in Boston, Massachusetts.
