RAK Hospital is providing a new treatment option for COVID-19 patients to help reduce severe symptoms.
The hospital is offering Bamlanivimab, which is used to prevent people from falling extremely ill.
The medication is given as a one-time intravenous infusion in the patients arm for about an hour and consists of antibodies similar to the antibodies of patients who recovered from the disease, thereby allowing an immediate response to the virus and avoiding severe disease.
