We miss Ramadan pre-covid and the gatherings that brought all the family together over delecious drinks and bites, so we wanted to remind ourselves of those precious times with one of the most popular drinks in Ramadan, Qamar al-Din.
Bringing you the easiest way to prepare Qamar al-Din in Ramadan with simple steps, with its original ingredients and the right ingredients to get the best results.
Preparation time: 1 hour and 5 minutes
Cooking time: 2 hours
Enough for: 20 people
Quantities:
- A kilo and a half apricot
- Corn oil
- Hot water
How to prepare:
- Wash the apricots well and leave them soaked in water for an hour.
- Drain the apricots from the water, then put them in boiling water for a minute, and take them out immediately.
- Chop the apricot seeds and chop them, then put them in the juice blender until very smooth.
- Drain the resulting juice through a very narrow sieve.
- Grease the Tefal tray with corn oil, then spread the juice to a thickness of half a centimeter.
- Put the tray in a quiet oven for two hours or until it becomes firm, then turn off the heat and leave the tray overnight.
- Gently take out the Kamaruddin from the tray and place it on cellophane paper, wrap it and store it in the refrigerator until use.
