Ramadan, also spelled Ramazan, Ramzan, Ramadhan or Ramathan, is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community.

2021 is predicted to begin on April 14 by Oman’s Mazen Al Mfraji, the head of Hijri Calender Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs.
Ramadan tradition differ from one country to another, however, one common practice is that
across the globe muslims fast from dawn till sunset for 29 or 30 days. They refrain from all kinds of food, drink and smoking and spend large portion of their time in prayers and purifying their mind and body.
The UAE usually celebrates the holy month of Ramadan through tents such as the famous Majlis tent and tents near mosques as charity work.
However, due to the pandemic no tents will be allowed as all permits for Ramadan tents have been cancelled this year as part of the COVID-19 safety measures.
According to a statement issued by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai, the decision to cancel all permits for Ramadan tents for 2021 has been taken in keeping with instructions from the government.
