Ramy Youssef to Release His 1st Animated Series This April

Egyptian-American comedian-actor Ramy Youssef will release his first animated series '#1 Happy Family USA' in April this year.

Youssef has co-created the series with Pam Brady, who is well-known for 'South Park: Bigger', 'Longer and Uncut', 'Team America: World Police', and 'Hamlet 2'.

British-Iraqi journalist and illustrator Mona Chalabi has produced the series, which Youssef's production company Cairo Cowboy, A24, and Amazon MGM Studios have co-produced. 

The animated series will feature eight episodes and will be released on Apr. 17 on Amazon Prime Video. 

'#1 Happy Family USA' is set in the early 2000s and follows the story of the Hussein family who are a Muslim family living in post-9/11 America. 

The series includes the voices of Ramy Youssef, Alia Shawkat, Salma Hindy, Randa Jarrar, Akaash Singh, Chris Redd, Whitmer Thomas, and Mandy Moore.

In addition to this animated series, Youssef co-wrote the second season of 'Mo' with Palestinian-American comedian and actor Mo Amer.
