The state news agency (SPA) said early Sunday that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will gradually begin receiving Umrah requests from abroad for vaccinated pilgrims starting August 9.

Mecca and Medina will start welcoming visitors from abroad to their mosques with a capacity of 2 million pilgrims from 60,000 pilgrims per month.
COVID-19 vaccination certificate
An Umrah request needs an authorised COVID-19 vaccination certificate from domestic and overseas pilgrims according to an official in the Hajj and Umrah Ministry
Institutionally quarantine:
Vaccinated pilgrims from countries that Saudi Arabia includes on its entry-ban list will have to be upon arrival, the report added.
Saudi Arabia opened Umrah in October but only for domestic worshippers.
Saudi closed to overseas worshippers since almost a year-and-a-half after due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
