USD2.6 million was offered in a bid by a Saudi billionaire in an auction to get a ticket to watch the forthcoming, eagerly awaited friendly match between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi on Thursday (January 19) in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
The anticipated match between Paris Saint-Germain and Al Nassr will be significant since it will the first time for the Portuguese player to play for the Saudi Club after signing a EUR200 million deal with the club which will continue until 2025.
Turki al-Sheikh, an advisor at the Royal Court and head of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority declared that the auction for the special ticket would come with various advantages in an attempt to promote the upcoming match.
The starting price for the ticket stood at at 1 million Saudi riyals ($266,000) and the winning bid reached 10 million riyals ($2.6 million) by Saudi real estate moghul Mushref al-Ghamdi.
