The 38-year-old Iraqi man Salwan Momika, who burnt the Quran in Sweden in 2023, was shot dead in the country, according to local media reports.

Momika was reportedly killed in an apartment in Södertälje, Stockholm on Wednesday evening.
Momika set fire to a Quran copy outside of Stockholm Central Mosque in 2023, which led to massive protests.
In a statement, the Stockholm police said that five individuals were arrested after a man in his 40s was shot dead overnight.
Officers were called to a suspected shooting at an apartment in Hovsjö around 11:11 p.m. local time on Wednesday.
The man, whose name has not been revealed by the police, was found with gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital.
The police announced that the man had died on Thursday morning. Local media revealed that Momika had been live-streaming on social media when he was shot.
