Queen Rania met her husband, then Prince Abdullah, at a dinner party in 1992. They married in 1993, and in 1999, when Prince Abdullah became King of Jordan, Rania became Queen Consort at just 28. The couple has four children, and their eldest son and daughter both married in 2023.

Queen Rania first published a children's book, The King's Gift, as a tribute to King Hussein on the first anniversary of his death. She has also authored Eternal Beauty and co-authored The Sandwich Swap with Kelly DiPucchio. Additionally, she wrote a short story titled Maha of the Mountains.
