UAE Leaders Pay Tribute to Women on International Women's Day

UAE's leaders have paid tribute to women achievements on International Women’s Day.
“On International Women's Day, we congratulate the Emirati woman on her scientific, economic and social achievements ... We congratulate ‘the mother of the Emirates’ for her support that has produced and enriched stories that we are proud of” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Duba said in a tweet.
“We congratulate the people of the Emirates who have joined women from the beginning in the development process and brought this march to the world.” His Highness added.
He congratulated Sheikha Fatima, widow of UAE Founding Father Sheikh Zayed. She’s known as Mother of the Nation or mother of the Emirates.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said "On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the remarkable abilities and achievements of women around the world."
"This past year, the Covid-19 pandemic has further demonstrated how women’s strength, courage and leadership are integral to safeguarding the present and future of the UAE." he wrote on Twitter.

Women make up 50 per cent of the country's Federal National Council, an advisory body to the government.
