UAE: Up to AED50,000 Fine for Those Involved with Black Magic

According to the UAE's Public Prosecution people can a fine of up to AED 50,000 and a jail sentence and for committing acts of witchcraft and sorcery.

The Public Prosecution clarified that such activities violate the country's Islamic (Sharia) law.

Anyone who directly or indirectly jeopardizes another person's physical or mental state using magic will be punished by law.
This also includes fortune-telling, hypnotizing people to exploit them, or influencing individual's beliefs through witchcraft.
Recently, 68kg of “black magic” contraband were seized by Dubai, officers seized items linked to witchcraft and sorcery, such as talismans, amulets, animal skins, bones and blood, between 2018 and 2020.
Black magic items such as needles, metal pieces, rings, sorcery knives, animal hair and ampoules of animal blood and other liquids, bones and drawings, and books of magic techniques were seized by customs officers.
