With borders slowly opening up from around the world, traveling amid the pandemic is a new norm embraced by all. As countries slowly get used to this, guidelines for traveller to and from the UAE have also been amended to ensure healthy and safety for all.

Dubai has updated the travel guidelines for citizens after an announcement from the Supreme Committee of Crisis & Disaster Management.

A statement released by the Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management said the amendments are to “ease hassles for passengers and exempt citizens from additional procedures without compromising on precautionary measures”.

The amended rules for UAE citizens, residents and visitors are as follows:

Citizens of the UAE who are returning to Dubai are not required to undergo a COVID-19 PCR test, no matter which destination they are coming in from. However, they will be required to undergo one upon arrival to the city.

As for UAE residents and visitors it is mandatory to take a PCR test before their departure to Dubai

In-transit passenger would need to do a PCR test depending on their country of departure and the final destination.
