The UAE will switch its weekend to Saturday and Sunday starting from January 1, 2022, and Friday working hours will be from 07:30 am until 12:00 pm. So, the UAE’s government will adopt a Four-and-half-day working week, and the weekend will start on Friday afternoon with two-and-a-half days off.
UAE New Working Hours 2022
- Monday to Thursday: 8 working hours from 07:30 am to 03:30 pm.
- Friday: 4.5 working hours from 07:30 am to 12:00 pm.
- Friday: possibility of flexible working hours and work from home option.
- Friday sermons & prayer: will be held after 01:15 pm all year long in UAE.
- Starting date: The new system will start from January 1, 2022 (Saturday), so January 2, 2022 (Sunday) is a weekend holiday.
Will the new working week changes in UAE include schools?
Yes, and the Ministry of Education will confirm working hours for schools.
