The free ride on InstaPay is coming to an end. Starting April 1, 2025, the popular mobile payment app will introduce new fees on its services and transactions.

The company announced that this update is part of its ongoing efforts to develop and sustain innovative digital financial services while meeting the evolving needs of its users.

Here’s What’s Changing:

  • Transfer Fees: A 0.1% fee on each money transfer, with a minimum charge of 50 piasters and a maximum of LE 20 per transaction.

  • Inquiries: Users can make up to ten free balance or mini-statement inquiries per month. After that, a 50-piaster fee will be charged for each additional inquiry.

Transparency & Customer Support

InstaPay emphasized its commitment to transparency, stating that users will be notified of any fees before completing transactions. The app also offers multiple support channels to help customers understand the new charges.

Since its launch in April 2022, InstaPay has grown rapidly, providing free money transfers and inquiries to its users. By the end of 2024, the app’s user base had reached 12 million, reflecting its popularity as a digital financial solution.

While the introduction of fees marks a shift, InstaPay aims to continue offering competitive services that streamline digital payments in Egypt.
