Everything You Need to Know About Alia Bhatt's 'Jigra'

The trailer for Alia Bhatt's upcoming film 'Jigra' was released on Sunday, Aug. 8 across all social media platforms. 

The trailer currently ranks number two on the trending list on YouTube India. 

The film features Alia Bhatt and 'The Archies' star Vedang Raina in leading roles. Vasan Bala directed the film and also wrote it alongside Debashish Irengbam.

The film is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt, and Somen Mishra, and co-produced by Marijke deSouza.

The trailer opens with Bhatt's character sharing her background story with another character Mr. Bhatia. She ends her story by saying, "It's a very long story and my brother has very little time." Her brother is played by Raina.

In reply, Mr. Bhatia says, "Let's blow up the damn prison walls," which hints that the film is going to revolve around a prison break. 

The trailer follows Bhatt's character in juxtaposing sequences of action and quiet emotion, with the heartbreaking rendition of 'Phoolon Ka Taaro Ka', sung by Raina, playing in the background. 

The trailer shows Bhatt's character going through various life-threatening events during the jailbreak to save her brother who is imprisoned for an unknown reason. 

'Jigra' is one of the most anticipated films of the year and fans' excitement already shows as the trailer has already racked up more than 21 million views on YouTube at the time of writing this article.
