Muharraq Nights Festival Set to Kick Off in Early December

The third edition of the Muharraq Nights festival is set to bring Bahrain’s rich pearling heritage to life this December. Organized by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) in partnership with GFH Financial Group, the festival forms part of the broader Celebrate Bahrain 2024 season.

A Journey Through Bahrain’s Pearling Legacy

This year, the festival will span the entire 3.5-kilometer Pearling Path, a UNESCO World Heritage site in historic Muharraq, from the Bu Maher coast to the Pearling Museum at Siyadi Majlis. For the first time, all heritage houses along this route will open to the public, hosting exhibitions and collections that capture the history of Bahrain’s pearling industry.

Interactive Events and Creative Exhibits

Muharraq Nights 2024 promises a range of interactive and creative activities that involve art galleries, local businesses, and community groups. Through art, crafts, music, food, children’s programs, and guided tours, the festival aims to offer an immersive experience of Bahrain’s unique cultural heritage.

Celebrating the Past, Inspiring the Future

The festival highlights the Pearling Path’s cultural and social significance, covering historic coastal sites, oyster beds, public squares, and buildings that showcase Bahrain’s storied pearling economy. This December, locals and visitors alike can enjoy a unique celebration that combines Bahrain’s history with a modern festival experience.
