Qatar Museums has announced a series of events and activities this August, targeting children and their families in order to learn about the change that Qatar has witnessed and to learn more about the National Museum of Qatar collection.

In this context, the Qatar National Museum organizes every Sunday and Tuesday of this month, a virtual field trip for school and university students in Qatar and abroad in order to discover the National Museum of Qatar from inside their classrooms, where they experience an exciting interactive experience with the museum guide through live broadcast tours.

Schools can choose one of the topics during the 45-minute virtual tour, which are: “Life on the Coast in Qatar,” “Qatari Architecture,” “Discovering Black Gold and Touring Qatar,” then “Modern History of Qatar.”

On August 15, 17, 22, and 24, an event entitled “Discovery of Black Gold and Transformation in Qatar” will be organized, where participants will learn about the positive impact of the discovery of oil and natural gas in Qatar, and its contribution to the country’s development in the cultural, economic, and political fields.

As for the “How big are your fears, little bear?” event, it is an illustrated story for children that will be organized on August 20, through which they learn how to overcome daily anxiety and fears and how to manage and deal with these feelings, as happened with the little bear and his mother who helped him to learn how to overcome his fears.

On Saturday, August 27, it will be dedicated to families through a workshop entitled “Light Projection”, during which participants learn to use the mirror and spotlights and combine different materials and shapes to produce a new artwork inspired by the exhibition “Pipelotti Rest: My brain to you, Your brain to me.”

For its part, the Arab Museum of Modern Art is organizing a workshop entitled “Tale Time in the Museum” on August 20 for children from 7 to 12 years old and their families to learn about the link between art and storytelling.

On the 27th of this month, the "Mathaf" Reading Club will organize a meeting in order to read selected artistic texts (historical, visual, and visual) from the "Mathaf" Library collection.

DD, the Children's Museum in Qatar, will meet with its young audience at the 'Let's Weave with DD' workshop in Al-Fanar, from Saturday to Thursday, from August 8 until September 30, in order to learn how to weave and help build the DD Garden.

The "Let's Weave with DD" program invites community members to make the pieces needed to develop the DD garden, in addition to learning about traditional weaving.

Participants will begin weaving placemats, coasters, and other supplies, and weaving sessions will be held in the Majlis at Al Fanar Center.
