The Next Public Holiday In The UAE This Month

As Prophet Muhammad’s birthday is falling on Thursday, October 29, another long weekend is likely to be ahead of us this month. 

In March 2019, the official public holidays fo the public and private sectors for the year 2020 had been announced as per a list from the UAE government. 

On this holiday, Muslims are encourage to spend the day connecting with God spiritually, by either fasting or reading the Quran and the anniversary of the birth of the founder of islam is commemorated.

Prophet Muhammad’s birthday (PBUH) is observed on the 12th day of the Islamic month of Rabi Al-Awwal, which is the third month of the Islamic year as he was born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, in the year 570 AD of the Gregorian calendar.

Another list of holidays which will take place this year include Commemoration Day on Tuesday December 1 and UAE National Day, on Wednesday December 2 and Thursday December 3 respectively, so don’t forget to mark the rest of your calendars this year and stay tuned to the announcements on the latest activities and staycations you can book this weekend.
