“Pinapaalam ko lang na hindi na ako tatakbo o tutuloy bilang konsehal ng Concepcion dahil gusto ko munang ihanda ang sarili ko para hindi mapahiya sa inyo at mapaglingkuran kayo nang tama,” Perez said in the video.

Perez had initially filed his candidacy in October, excited to represent his hometown. However, after careful reflection, he decided to focus on better preparing himself before jumping into the political arena.

Support from Fans and Netizens

The decision was met with positive feedback from Perez's followers, with many praising him for his honesty. Some social media users commented that his decision showed maturity and a commitment to making the right choices for both his career and the people of Concepcion.

“Right decision! Mas hahanga ang tao sayo for being honest and backing out. Proud of you and meme Vice,” one netizen wrote. Another added, “I can see how much you want to help and this is the best thing you do right now. Better decision. Maganda rin na ihanda ang sarili to be in the politics.”

Perez’s move has made waves on social media, and many agree that taking the time to prepare properly before entering politics is a wise decision.
