Is Batelco's name changed?

As of the 18th of June, the company formerly known as "BATELCO" has officially changed its name and rebranded to "BEYON." The announcement of this name change was made during a special ceremony held at the Bahrain Bourse. Mr. Abdulkarim Bucheery, the Chairman of Bahrain Bourse, was present during the event. This rebranding aligns with the launch of the new brand, "Beyon," which took place in December 2022.

Why Did Batelco Change its Name?

Beyon, the biggest communications and information technology company in the kingdom, serves as the parent company for Batelco, the Beyon digital companies, and Batelco's international operations.

As per Beyon's statement, this name change is in line with the company's launch in December of the previous year. The Beyon group of companies manages a wide range of portfolios of local and international businesses, including Batelco, the four Beyon Digital companies (Beyon Money, Beyon Solutions, Beyon Cyber, and Beyon Connect), and various overseas investments.

The change of the ticker symbol aligns with the information presented at the Bahrain Bourse with Beyon's new identity.

In the announcement of the ticker symbol change, Beyon Chairman, Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, expressed that due to Beyon's significant market presence, the current Batelco ticker symbol no longer represents their identity accurately. Therefore, the company introduced the new ticker symbol "Beyon," which signifies another important milestone in their journey.

What is the New Trading Symbol for Batelco?

On June 18th, 2023, the Bahrain Bourse announced that at the request of Bahrain Telecommunications Company B.S.C., the company trading ticker symbol has been changed from BATELCO to BEYON, to reflect the new identity. 

Furthermore, the company is continuously exerting efforts through its dedication to advancing the Beyon company and expanding its range of products into new regional and international markets. This commitment aligns with their objective of enhancing value for their shareholders.
