Bahrain’s ‘For You’ Program to Reward High-Risk Job Workers

The Ministry of Labour has opened nominations for the ‘For You’ initiative, aiming to recognize Bahraini citizens working in high-risk jobs as part of the national ‘Bahrainouna’ plan.

Honoring Workers in Demanding Roles  

Engineer Mustafa Aqeel Al Shaikh, head of the ‘For You’ initiative and Director of the Ministry’s Inspection and Safety Department, highlighted the importance of appreciating citizens who work in demanding fields. As part of this initiative, 20 workers, chosen by their employers, will be honored at a ceremony in December.

Second Wave of Recognition Under 'For You'  

This marks the second round of ‘For You,’ a program launched under Bahrain’s National Plan to foster a strong sense of national pride and citizenship. Employers from the private sector have until December 7, 2024, to submit nominations, giving special attention to workers in high-risk roles.

Who Qualifies for Nominations?

Nominations should meet criteria set by Ministerial Order No. (8) of 2013, which outlines health and safety standards. Eligible high-risk professions include jobs that involve working at heights, handling hazardous chemicals, operating high-pressure equipment, electrical maintenance, and other roles with exposure to extreme conditions such as heat, noise, or radiation.

How to Nominate?

Private sector employers can submit nominations via the Ministry’s online platform at https://jobs.mlsd.gov.bh/main/superheroes. The Ministry encourages recognizing workers in roles like excavation, confined spaces, healthcare positions with virus risks, and other challenging environments.
