Bahrain’s New Dads May Get 3-Day Paid Paternity Leave Soon

Bahrain’s government employees who are new fathers may soon enjoy a three-day paid paternity leave, thanks to a proposed amendment that has gained the support of the Parliamentary Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee.

This potential policy change, led by MP Jalal Kadhem, seeks to expand the current one-day leave, making space for dads to bond with their newborns during those special early days.

While the committee has green-lit this proposal for the public sector, a similar amendment for private sector dads is still under review.

If approved, this change would mark a significant step toward enhancing family support for working fathers across Bahrain.

For new dads, that means a bit more breathing room to celebrate and adjust to life with a little one at home!
