Bahrain’s Private Sector Salaries Jumped by 124% Since 2005

Bahrain has seen a sharp rise in private sector salaries over the past two decades, especially for local citizens. Data shows that from 2005 to 2024, the average monthly salary for Bahrainis in private companies jumped from BHD 381 to BHD 853 — a 124% increase.

Strong Growth in Recent Years

The growth was consistent but became more noticeable in recent years. Between 2017 and 2020, the average wage rose by 6.6%, climbing from BHD 710 to BHD 757. The upward trend continued, with salaries rising another 12.7% from 2021 to 2024, reaching BHD 853.

A Push for Better Job Opportunities

This rise in earnings supports Bahrain’s wider economic goals. Under its 2025-2026 national budget, the government is working on improving job prospects, enhancing public services, and raising the standard of living for citizens.

Better Pay, Stronger Economy

The steady increase in wages is helping create a more competitive workforce in Bahrain. With higher pay and more opportunities, the country is aiming for long-term economic stability and growth.
